Much anticipated 2021 IPL season mini auction come to an end at Chennai on Thursday, 18th February. Total 57 Players were sold including 22 overseas players and 29 uncapped players, staggering 145.3 crore INR spent by all eight franchises.
South African all-rounder Chris Morris created bidding war among teams, before he was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for IPL record breaking bid of INR 16.25 crore. New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson attracted second highest bid of the day and sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 15 crore.
Australian all-rounder and hard hitter Glen Maxwell attracted third highest bid despite his struggles in 2020 IPL season. The Aussie was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 14.25 crore.
Jhye Richardson, Australian speedster attracted fourth best bid for the day with INR 14 crore. Newly named Punjab Kings secured his services for 2021 season. Krishnappa Gowtham , young Indian all-rounder attracted fifth best bid of the day, he will join MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings for 2021 season after sold for INR 9.25 Crore.
