FIA and F1 teams condemns racial abuse against Seven time World Champion Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton wins his 99th career Formula 1 grand prix at 2021 British Grand Prix under controversial circumstances.

Lewis and Max collided in the very first lap of the race, unfortunately Max Verstappen ended up in the tyre barriers at turn 9 with a 51 G impact. Luckily the Dutch man walked away without any major problems, thanks to FIA safety policies.

Since the both drivers were fighting for championship, the accident and the 10 seconds time penalty didn’t go well with some, who started abusing Lewis Hamilton racially over the social media.

In the wake of these, FIA and Formula One along with Mercedes MG F1 team released an official statement condemning the racial abuse. The Statement reads..

“During, and after, yesterday’s British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was subjected to multiple instances of racist abuse on social media following an in-race collision. Formula 1, The FIA and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team condemn this behaviour in the strongest possible terms. These people have no place in our sport and we urge that those responsible should be held accountable for their actions. Formula 1, the FIA, the drivers and the teams are working to build a more diverse and inclusive sport, and such unacceptable instances of online abuse must be highlighted and eliminated.”

Along with FIA & Formula1, some of F1 teams condemns the racial abuse towards Lewis Hamilton and they extended their support to Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes.
