Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum has been elected as the next president of the NBA Players Association. Yahoo Sports, NBA insider Chris Haynes broke the news first later confirmed by many other siurces.
According tp Haynes, current sitting president and Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul chose not to run for a third four-year term after completing 8 years in the president role.
McCollum has been a vice president on the NBPA’s executive committee since 2018 and has been deeply involved in union decision-making and negotiations with the NBA.
A New Vice-president
Boston Celtics’ Grant Williams was voted by the players as the new Vice President of the NBPA at today’s Board of NBPA Player Representatives meeting and will begin his term as Vice President immediately.
In this role, Grant Williams will join the NBPA Executive Committee alongside, CJ McCollum (President), Andre Iguodala (First VP), Harrison Barnes (Secretary-Treasurer), Bismack Biyombo (VP), Malcolm Brogdon (VP), Jaylen Brown (VP), Kyrie Irving (VP) and Garrett Temple (VP).
