F1 Rumors: Vettel and Racing point in discussions for possible 2021 move

F1 silly rumors rumbling once again, according to latest rumors Four-time Champion Sebastian Vettel and Racing Point (soon to be Aston Martin) engaged in verbal discussions.

Germany news agency Bild reported that both sides are negotiating and that an agreement “is expected”. But another Germany news channel RTL sources say there is no agreement (at least not yet).

Who will make way for Vettel at Racing Point

Last week Racing point CEO & Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer told there is no space for vettel at Racing point at least logically

“It is flattering that everyone thinks that a four-time world champion could come to us,” he said before the last race in Austria, but added: “We have long-term contracts with our two drivers, so it would only be logical that we didn’t have one Have space. “

In way he is true, Lance Stroll is son of Lawrence Sheldon Strulovitch, who is majority stake holder in Aston Martin. So logically Stroll will be staying for foreseeable future.

Another driver, The Mexican Sergio Perez is contracted till 2022, then how is it possible for Vettel to make a move ?If there is a will there’s a way…Perez will be the one facing axe, if these rumors are to be believed.

According to “Bild” Germany, there is a compensation clause in Perez’s contract that Racing Point could use until July 31.As per the report, the contract between Perez and the team could be terminated earlier “for a high single-digit million amount”.

Why Aston Martin should hire Vettel?

Vettel is a four-time World Champion and he is proven race winner. His ruthless driving put Red Bull in Formula 1 history books by winning 4 consecutive double championship from 2010 to 2013.

Aston Martin is big brand and known as James Bond car in the market, even though they have faster car this year they need star power to fight for World Championships. To be fair, their current line-up is not good enough to take on likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. So logically Vettel is ideal match for them from winning and branding perspective.
