Astros fall 0-2 to Dodgers in a two game series between 2017 World Series rivals. Astros batters struggled in both games without their best friend, Trash Bin’s help. LA team proved once again that, they are the real 2017 World Series Champions.

Game 1: Dodgers beat Astros 5-2

Dodgers are visiting The Minute Maid Park for the first time after MLB’s January decision on The Houston Astros sign stealing scandal.

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow and field manager A. J. Hinch were suspended for the entire 2020 season for failing to prevent the rules violations. The Astros were fined the maximum allowable $5 million and forfeited their first- and second-round picks in the 2020 and 2021 drafts.

No players were punished because they had been given immunity by MLB in exchange for their cooperation.The Astros subsequently fired both Luhnow and Hinch on the day their suspensions were announced.

Walker Buehler pitched for the first time in this season on Tuesday, his outing lasted just only 3.2 innings and he finished game with 3.2 IP,2R, 2ER,3H,1BB and 3 SO.

Dodgers another new addition Brusdar Graterol, who was part of Mookie Betts trade package picked up his first W in Dodgers uniform and veteran reliever Kenley Jansen picked up his first save of the season.

Astros star line-up struggled against Dodgers strong bullpen except Correa, who finished game with 3-4,1R, and 2 RBI.

Astros positional players, except Correa and Michael Brantley finished game with combined 0-23.Framber Valdez picked up Loss for the night for Home team, he finished game with 4.1IP,4H,3R,2ER,1BB and 2SO.

Houston took early lead with Correa home run and they were up 0-2 at end of fourth. But things got interesting when Dodgers scored 5 runs and took commanding lead 5-2 in top of the fifth inning.

Joe Kelly 8 game suspension

Righty reliever Joe Kelly, who was not part of 2017 Dodgers team that lost World Series to Astros, took matters in his hands to express Dodgers displeasure in the bottom of sixth inning.

Kelly walked Alex Bregman with a 96 MPH fast ball, which went back of his neck. Again Kelly throwed a 87 MPH off-speed pitch towards Correa’s head before he got him with a slider to end the innings. While heading to dugout, words are exchanged between Kelly and Correa before both benches cleared.

MLB suspended Joe Kelly for 8 games on Wednesday morning for intentional throwing and Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts handed 1 game suspension for Joe Kelly actions.

Game 2: Dodgers beat Astros 4-2, in longest game of the season.

After eventful first game, Dodgers beat Astros 4-2 in the second game of the series, which last 13 innings and become longest game of the season so far.

Dodgers rookies Edwin Rios and Santana played heroics in the game 2 to sweep the series against 2017 World Series rivals.

Thanks to the new extra-innings rules instituted for 2020 that places an automatic runner at second base at the start of every extra half-inning, Ríos’ 13th inning blast made history as the first leadoff two-run homer of all time.

Meanwhile, Santana was credited with his first Major League victory since 2018 by capping another bullpen masterpiece. Rookie Dustin May struggled with offspeed command and lasted only 3 1/3 innings, leaving a bullpen that pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings on Tuesday to pick up the slack. Dodgers relievers threw another 9 2/3 innings on Wednesday without allowing an earned run, as runs scored by automatic runners are unearned.

Once again batters from both team struggled to put ball in play.Dodgers as a team, went 5-44 along with 13 strike outs. Astros were 8-45 with 13 strike outs for the night. Cy Sneed picked up first loss of the season for Astros.

Dodgers will head back to Phoenix to take-on Diamondbacks on Thursday.Houston will fly to LA to play against Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
