UEL:Sevilla 2-1 Manchester United, another semi-final exit for Red Devils

Manchester United knocked out in their third semi-final of the season. Spanish side ,Sevilla defeated United 2-1 in Europa League semi-final on Sunday night. Sevilla will face either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League final on August 21.

Ole’s men were hoping it would be third time lucky for them in a semi-final after being knocked out in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last four earlier this season. But poor defense and a lack of cutting edge in front of the goal cost them once again.

United made the ideal start though, when Bruno Fernandes converted another penalty from the spot in the 9th minute of the game, after Marcus Rashford was fouled by Diego Carlos.

But former Liverpool winger Suso leveled things up with a nice shot from an tough acute angle in the 27th minute.United defense was to blame here, no one is marking Suso inside the box.

United had a so many chances after the break to re-take the lead – Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Fernandes and Rashford all going close – but paid for these misses when Luuk de Jong (78) tapped home late on after some poor defending from Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Five-time Europa League winners Sevilla will face either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk in Friday’s final in Cologne while Manchester United once again fall just short.
