MLB regular season come to an end and 2020 Post-Season Bracket set on a final day of regular season. Entering Sunday, none of the eight Wild Card Series matchups was settled, with the final two National League postseason spots up for grabs and many other teams still jockeying for seeding.
Finally, after a wild afternoon of baseball, the 2020 postseason field is set. Sixteen teams are in, and the action begins with four American League series on Tuesday. The four NL series will get underway Wednesday, when there will be eight total playoff games on the same day for the first time in history.
New Post-season format:
This year’s post season will be different from previous ones, instead of regular five, eight teams will reach post-season based on their regular season record. All 8 teams will play in the best of 3 Wild card round, four winners will play best of 5 Division series. Two winners of division series will play for League Championship in Best of 7.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
AL wild card games are scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (if necessary). The games will be played at the home field of the higher seed, and all subsequent rounds will be played at neutral sites.
No.1 seed Tampa Bay Rays will host No.8 seed Toronto Blue Jays, No.2 Seed Oakland Athletics will host No.7 seed Chicago White Sox, No.3 seed Minnesota Twins will host No.6 seed Houston Astros and No.4 seed Cleveland Indians will host 5th seed New York Yankees.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
NL games are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (if necessary). The games will be played at the home field of the higher seed, and all subsequent rounds will be played at neutral sites.
No.1 seed LA Dodgers will host No.8 seed Milwaukee Brewers, No.2 seed Atlanta Braves will host No.7 seed Cincinnati Reds,No.3 seed Chicago Cubs will host No.6 seed Miami Marlins and No.4 seed San Diego Padres will host No.5 seed Saint Luis Cardinals.
