The window for the eight IPL franchises to retain players for the Indian Premier League 2021 season closed on Wednesday, 20th January. 139 players were retained by the franchises whereas 57 players were released from their existing squads.
Sunrisers Hyderabad overachieved during IPL 2020 by reaching knock-outs despite losing some key players to Injuries. They have very good young core to build around, the team management decided to retain 22 players from the 2020 team, most by any team.
Team left with INR 10.75 Cr in cap room (available Money/Funds) to add remaining three players to the squad. In the available three slots, one is for overseas player and remaining two for domestic players.
