American League No.1 seed Tampa Bay Rays will take on No.6 seed Houston Astros for League Championship. Game 1 will be played on October 11th Sunday at Petco Park, San Diego. First pitch set for 7:37 PM ET, tbs set to broadcast whole series.
Though the Rays and Astros will be meeting for the second straight postseason, the 2020 American League Championship Series figures to have a bit of a different look from their showdown in the ’19 AL Division Series. Houston beat Rays 3-2 in the 2019 divisional series , but young Rays are waiting for this moment to avenge their last year’s loss.
Valdez and Snell set as ALCS Game 1 starters . Blake Snell has pitched at-least five innings in his first two starts this postseason, In Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series, he held the Blue Jays scoreless; in Game 1 of the ALDS, he gave up four runs to the Yankees. All three of Snell’s outings last postseason came against the Astros.
Framber Valdez will make his second career postseason start and third appearance overall. He pitched the final five innings of Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series, allowing no runs. Valdez started Game 2 of the ALDS vs. the A’s, allowing two runs in seven innings.
