According NBA insider and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski sources head coach Doc Rivers out with Clippers.
People around the league is not surprised by the news though, after falling to Denver Nuggets in second round playoffs series many believed Rivers coached last game for Clippers.
As per ESPN’s Woj ,”Doc Rivers had two years left on his contract. This is a challenging coaching search for Clippers, who are the ultimate win-now team. Among top candidates in the marketplace: Clippers assistant Ty Lue and former Rockets and Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy.”
Doc joined Clippers via trade from Celtics in 2013 for an 2015 unprotected draft pick and during his 7 years tenure with Clippers, team never made it to conference finals. He won his only coaching NBA Ring with Boston Celtics during 2007-08 season by defeating Kobe Led Los Angeles Lakers.
As per the latest rumors’ 76ers and Pelicans are in-talks with Rivers for Next season.
