Championship leader and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen sets early pace in 2021 British Grand Prix after posting fastest time in the Friday morning Free Practice one.
Local boys Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton comes home in P2 & P3 ahead of Charles Leclerc in P4 and Valtteri Bottas in P5.
Max Verstappen’s best lap of the session 1:27.035 is 0.779 seconds faster than P2 time of McLaren’s Lando Norris. The blistering pace from Red Bull driver is not a good sign for rest of the field.
Max’s championship rival Lewis Hamilton is managed to post third best time of the session but the brit’s efforts are 0.780 seconds shy of session leader. Mercedes has some early catchup work to do ahead of Friday qualifying session.
Carlos Sainz in P6 is the last driver to be below 1 second of Max Verstappen’s time. A good lap from Vettel puts him P7 in the Aston Martin, a 1m28.062s for the two-time Silverstone winner.
Sergio Perez’s Friday struggles continue with his new team, The Mexican was down in eighth place, 1.128 seconds shy of his teammate’s best efforts.
Daniel Ricciardo in P9 and Esteban Ocon in P10 completes the top-10 for the only practice session ahead of qualifying.
