The window for the eight IPL franchises to retain players for the Indian Premier League 2021 season closed on Wednesday, 20th January. 139 players were retained by the franchises whereas 57 players were released from their existing squads.
Mumbai Indians are 2020 IPL Champions and they have one of strongest squads in the history of IPL. They can dominate their opponents in so many ways. They have decided to retain 18 Players from back-to-back championship team for 2021 season, while 7 players lost their place in the team.
The Team has INR 15.35Cr to play with on Mini Auction day to fill the vacant seven slots, which includes 4 overseas slots. It will be interesting to see how the team will build onto their current rooster for 2021 season.
