Knicks forward Obi Toppin won the 2022 All-Star Slam Dunk Contest at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, beating Warriors big Juan Toscano-Anderson on State Farm All-Star Saturday Night.
Magic’s Cole Anthony opened the contest with an NYC special, dunking in a pair of workboots. He was followed by Toscano-Anderson, who dropped in a towering windmill over teammate Andrew Wiggins.
Toppin went around the back while clearing his assistant. Jalen Green, after several attempts to throw down a between-the-legs jam off the side of the backboard, took a lob to windmill a jam even with the rim.
Green opened the second attempts with a reverse 360 between the legs, before Anthony went off the bounce and missed three tries at a 360 one-handed throwdown. Toscano-Anderson also went for the reverse 360 windmill as he was passing under the rim. Toppin closed out the opening round with an off-the-glass, between-the-legs, two-handed double-pump reverse.
Final Show
Toscano-Anderson went up for a windmill to hang on his elbow, and came up short, but the dunk went through for 8s all around. Toppin tried twice to go between-the-legs with a window tap before the flush, but opted out to ensure a throwdown with an off-the-backboard, between-the-legs windmill.
Warriors’ man countered with a throwback Jason Richardson jersey and a few attempts at an off-the-bounce, between-the-legs one-hand reverse that never quite made it. To seal the victory, Toppin went between-the-legs and tapped glass before the dunk, completing an altered version of his earlier attempt for all 9s and 10s.
