“We tried everything today and gave it our all. It was a lot of fun but in the end we just lacked a bit of pace. We still have a decent lead so today was about damage limitation. I’m confident we’ll come back stronger in the next races”– said , Max Verstappen during post-race interview.

Pole sitter Valtteri Bottas once again failed capitalize on front row start, he had a miserable start and first lap. But the fin managed to recover to finish on podium. Most importantly he finished race ahead of Sergio Perez to extend Mercedes championship lead over Red Bull.

“I’m disappointed with the start and the first lap – I tried, but afterwards the pace was quite ok. I’m glad that we could get more points than Red Bull”, said Bottas after the race.
