Manchester United drop new adidas third kit for 2021-22 season

Manchester United revealed their new adidas third kit on Thursday for upcoming 2021-22 season.

Manchester United released an official statement regarding their new alternative kit.

“The United third kit is more than a shirt that is worn by the players. It’s a symbol of unwavering support, immense pride, and a uniform for one of the greatest clubs on the planet.

We know who we are, and we’re proud of it. We have our way of doing things and we won’t ever stray from that, not just the club, but the city – it’s the Mancunian Way.

We are who we are because of this great city known as Manchester, a city that has become a beacon and a way of life for millions all over the world.

We’re hungry for silver, but we’ll never be full. The Mancunian Way is a way of life, and it’s integral to the values of the club, and as instructed by a certain Scottish legend, we’ll never rest.

It’s the historic moments on and off the pitch that have led us to this moment, to this kit, and to this identity. 

This season’s third kit is inspired by the icons of our past, and the icons of right now. As the likes of Eric Cantona and George Best have cemented their status as legends, now is the time for our players to make their mark. 

Fit for kings and queens, this season’s third shirt pays homage to the away shirt from the 1993/94 season when United retained the Premier League title and also won the FA Cup to complete the club’s first-ever Double.”

New Third Kit design explained

Hues of black, blue, and yellow combine to create an electrifying jersey that provides energy on and off the pitch thanks to the bright yellow accents.

Both the authentic and replica versions of the third kit offer unrivalled style, and a sustainable option thanks to their Primegreen construction, which is a blend of recycled materials.

The authentic shirt utilises adidas’s latest thermoregulation technology, which is known as HEAT.RDY. It regulates the players’ temperature on the pitch to keep them cool so that they can always be at their best.

The replica version incorporates AEROREADY technology, which operates in a similar way by keeping you comfortable and cool thanks to its moisture-absorbing properties. An eclectic pattern decorates the shirt to offer up a shirt that looks great both on and off the pitch, thanks to its vibrant design and eye-catching colours.

If you take a closer peek, you can see amongst the contrasting black and blue that an ‘M’ is ingrained into the pattern, acting as a nod to the United way of life and the Mancunian Way.
