Mercedes AMG Formula 1 team has lodged it’s intention to appeal the decision of the stewards under Article 15 of the Sporting Code and Article 10 of the Judicial and Disciplinary Rules.
Earlier Mercedes lodged two protests challenging Max Verstappen’s 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix win. But stewards quickly dismissed both of their complaints.
Mercedes has accepted the rejection of its allegation that Verstappen passed Hamilton under the safety car.
But it has declared it will take the dismissal of its objection to the handling of that safety car period to the FIA International Court of Appeal. It has a 72-hour window to decide whether to proceed with the case.
