Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher are the only German drivers on the 2021 Grid. But their relationship is more than that, Mick’s father and legendary Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher is Seb’s childhood hero.
Both multiple World Champions shared a special bond both on & off the track, they together won Race of Champions six consecutive seasons from 2007 to 2012 for Germany.
After Mick confirmed for 2021 Haas seat, Vettel took him under his wings like Michael did for him in his early formula 1 days. Vettel said before first race of the season, “I will be there for Mick, like how Michael was for me”.
After a final year struggle with Ferrari Sebastian Moved to Aston Martin for 2021 season, but The German took four races to find his feet with new team, but in his sixth race with the team Vettel drove an exceptional race from 11th on the grid to give first ever podium for Aston Martin in Formula One history with P2 finish.
Haas driver Mick Schumacher was briefed on Vettel’s podium finish by his race engineer over the team radio. Mick expressed his happiness for Vettel on the radio.
