MLB: Dodgers beat Giants 8-1 on Opening Night

Dodgers beat rivals Giants 8-1 on Opening night of 2020 season on the back of Enrique Hernández big performance with bat.

It suppose to be a Kershaw day at Dodger stadium on Opening Day. But unfortunately Dodgers ace headed to injured list just hours before start of the game with back stiffness.

Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Dustin May in place of injured Kershaw. As per MLB Stats, May become the youngest dodger pitcher to start on Opening Day since Fernando Valenzuela in 1983. May was 22 years, 321 days old on Opening Day.

Dodgers scored 8 on their arch-rivals, Giants, in huge blow out win. Kike Hernández leads all batsmen with 4-5, 2R, 5 RBI and 1HR monster performance on opening night.

All 9 Dodgers positional players registered at-least a hit tonight. Dodgers scored total 8 runs with 12 hits in nine innings.

After making much anticipated debut in Dodgers blue on opening day, Mookie Betts scored his first hit in Dodgers career during bottom of the 7th. Betts,immediately asked for the ball.

May pitched 4.1 innings for Dodgers and he conceded 7 hits, 1 run and strikes out four batters. Adam Kolarek pickups W for the night while Giants righty Tyler Rogers pickups L tonight.
