Motor Sports Fans reacts to Vettel /Ferrari Split

Monday night bombshell report from Germany about Ferrari and Vettel split after end of 2020 season made this shortened season more interesting. Ferrari and Binotto confirmed the reports by issuing official statement on Tuesday.

Sebastain’s current teammate and Ferrari’s future, Charles Leclerc reacted to the news and expressed his gratitude towards German over his twitter handle.

Motor Sports fans around the world expressed their views on this breaking news using various social media platforms. Ferrari angered Vettel fans for choosing young Charles Leclerc , just two race winner over four time champion.

What Next for Both the Parties?

Ferrari set confirm Spaniard Carlos Sainz as a replacement for Sebastian Vettel in coming days as per latest developments. He will be a perfect choice for Ferrari to pair with Charles.

As per Seb, he yet to decide on his next move but based on his latest comments one should not be surprised if he chooses to retire from F1 or take his talents to some other racing series.

If he chooses to stay in F1, Mclaren and Renault are obvious options available since both Sainz and Ricciardo linked to vacant Ferrari seat. Both teams are struggling to catch top three teams since start of the hybrid era, so such a move will be a disaster for Seb in the near future.

German Driver in a German Team?

Moving to Mercedes in 2021 will be a best case scenario for Sebastain. Six time champions doesn’t have any driver under contract beyond 2020 season and Toto is a big admirer of Vettel, both as a driver and person.

Toto Wolff quotes from Germany (DPA) on Sebastian exit. Calls Seb “a great driver, a great personality and an asset to any team”. Hamilton/Bottas, plus Russell, Mercedes’ priorities for ’21 but “we cannot ignore this development”.

So Sebastian’s decision to walk-away from Ferrari will be justified if he joins flying Silver arrows for 2021 season.
