Portland Trail Blazers acquires Robert Covington from Houston Rockets after a Monday night deal between the teams. According to ESPN’s NBA insider Adrian Wojarowski, Blazers are sending Trevor Ariza, 16th pick in Wednesday’s 2020 draft and 2021 protected first-round pick to Houston Rockets for Covington.
The proposed deal can’t be finalized until after Wednesday’s draft. Due to 2020 & 2021 first round picks involved in the trade. No NBA team can trade away their draft picks for consecutive years.
