Los Angeles Lakers crush Miami Heat 106-93 in Game 6 to win 17th NBA Championship in franchise history. LeBron James Named as 2019-20 NBA Finals MVP.
After losing Game 5 in the final minutes, Lakers came to Game 6 with a mamba mentality to dominate Miami Heat from the tip-off. Lakers were up 8 points in the first Quarter before extending the lead to 28 at half-time break with 64-36 score line.
Lakers hold an 29 point lead entering into fourth quarter, Miami Heat & Jimmy Butler had no response to Lakers incredible defense. Heat managed to reduce the deficit to 13 points at the final whistle with the help of some garbage time scoring but the necessary damage has been done by Lakers defense in the first three quarters.
Once again soon to be 36-years old, LeBron James led Lakers from the front on a historical night with incredible triple-double 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 Assists on 13 of 20 shooting from the floor. The King crowned as a 2019-20 NBA Finals MVP for his incredible effort on both ends of the floor, he became first player in the NBA history to win Finals MVP with three different organizations.
Anthony Davis notches another double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds on 7 of 17 shooting from the floor. His commitment and contribution for Team defense is unquestionable, he matched and guarded all five positions of Heat team. Though he didn’t win the Finals MVP, his time will come soon in Lakers Land.
Playoffs Rondo led Lakers bench with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists on a impressive 8 of 11 shooting from the floor and 3 of 4 from 3-point range. Rajon Rondo joins Clyde Lovellete as the only players to win a championship with the Lakers and the Celtics (2008). Clyde Lovellette won with the Minneapolis Lakers in 1953-54 and with Boston in 1962-63 & 1963-64.
KCP & Danny green scored 17 & 11 points each but their defence played big role in win than their offense. After missing the final shot in Game 5 loss, Green and his fiancée faced some heat from fans.
Miami Heat played great basketball in the bubble, they have surprised many teams with their team Basketball. But unfortunately they are not a match for LeBron & AD duo. With lost of young talent, their near future looks bright.
Bam Adebayo led Heat with impressive performance, 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists on 10 of 15 shooting from the floor. Jimmy Butler scored 12 points , 7 rebounds and 8 assists on 5 of 10 shooting. Goran Dragic returned to the side after missing out last 4 games due to Injury, he scored just 5 points off the bench.
King James and Anthony Davis are the first pair of teammates in league history to avg. 25 points on 50% + FG’s in one postseason (min. 6 games), and the 4th in the Finals (Shaq/Kobe, 2002; Shaq/Penny, 1995; Dr. J./A. Toney, 1982).
This 17th title is the Lakers 12th since the team moved to Los Angeles in 1960, and 11th since 1980, which matches the number of titles for the rest of the Western Conference combined since that time.
