Los Angeles Lakers signed two-way guard Wes Matthews on a one year $3.6M deal, Matthews played last season for Milwaukee Bucks. Matthews provides much needed 3-pt shooting for Lakers, he shot 38.1% and 34.3% from the deep in regular season and Playoffs respectively.
Wes Matthews is definitely an upgrade over outgoing Danny Green, Matthews attempted 236 catch and shoot threes last season with the Bucks, he converted those at a 37.7% clip. On his wide open chances, 39.8% To compare, Danny Green shot 36.9% on his catch and shoot chances, and 35.8% on his wide open looks.
Matthews father, Wes Matthews Sr played for Los Angeles Lakers (1986-88) and he was part of Showtime Lakers’ 87 & 88 championship team.
