Spain and Real Madrid Legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas retires from football, he announced his retirement over social media account on Tuesday.
The 39 year old Spaniard announced his retirement after winning Portugal Cup Championship for 2019-20 season with his current club FC Porto. He moved to Porto after departing Real Madrid in 2015 and this will be second title with Portugal National champions.
He captained Spain National team which achieved historic treble by winning three consecutive major title. Under Casillas captaincy Spain won 2008 Euro , 2010 World Cup and 2012 Euro.He made 167 appearance for Spain in all competitions.
Iker was a Real Madrid Legend, he came from the lower ranks of Madrid football system. In his 16 years (1999-2015) of Real Madrid career, he made 510 appearances for the club.The Spaniard won 5 Laliga titles, 3 UEFA Champions league titles and 2 Copa del Rey with Madrid.
