Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton takes commanding victory from Pole, here in Barcelona at the Spanish Grand Prix, leading every lap from pole to record his fifth career Spanish Grand Prix win, and his fourth victory of the season.Today the six-time World Champion was in a league of his own, he lapped everyone on the race track except Vestappen and Bottas.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen coming home in P2 ahead of Valtteri Bottas in P3.The Brit had a great start and pulled away from second placed Max Verstappen after Lap 1,his teammate Bottas dropped from P2 to P4 off the line, before eventually recovering to finish in third, while Verstappen jumped to second at the start, but his Red bull doesn’t have enough pace to Challenge Lewis, as he finished 24s behind Race winner.
Racing Point scored much needed points, after 15 points punishment by Stewards. Sergio Perez crossed the line in fourth but dropped to fifth, thanks to a five-second penalty for ignoring blue flags.
Lance Stroll promoted to P4 with his team mate 5 seconds penalty, Perez eventually finished race in P5, ahead of McLaren’s Carlos Sainz ,who maintained his 100% record of finishing in the points at his home race.
Ferrari Man Sebastian Vettel, who benefited from a late decision to switch him onto a one-stop strategy by his pit-wall come home in P7.His teammate Charles Leclerc retired from the race after his SF1000 spun at turn 13 on Lap 38 because of an electrical problem, and then pitting for good on lap 39.
Red Bull’s Alex Albon come home in P8 behind Vettel,after a strategy blunder by his team.The Thai driver hurt by having had to switch early to a set of hards and struck behind traffic for most of the race.
AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly and the second McLaren of Lando Norris rounded out the top 10.Renault strong show in the previous races failed to materialize in Barcelona,as Daniel Ricciardo end up in 11th and his team mate Esteban Ocon come home in 13th.
Raikkonen come home in 14th, ahead of the Haas of Magnussen in P15 and team mate Giovinazzi in 16th.The two Williams of George Russell and Nicholas Latifi finished ahead of Grosjean in P17 and P18 respectively.
Grosjean classified last in the race with P19 and his half-spin at Turn 8 a lap from the end for good measure helped his team official twitter handle to troll the French man after the race.
