Vettel:”My aim is to enjoy my last few races with the team”

Formula 1 is back to the action after a brief one week break,Belgium will host the seventh round of the season on the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track. It’s seven kilometres boast some of the best corners in the world, most famous of which is the climb up Eau Rouge-Raidillon.

This years Ferrari lack straight line speed and their drivers Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel predicts tough race on Sunday and they see SF1000 would struggle in First and final Sectors.

Sebastian on his approach to this race and future ones this year

“I have confidence in the work the team is doing and I think it is vitally important, especially this season, not to make any mistakes. My aim is to enjoy my last few races with the team and to have no regrets when the year ends. I have faith in the mechanics and engineers.And I’m sure the team feels the same about me, so everything is in place for us to do our best together. Among the many things that will change during the course of a year, I think it’s the people I will miss most.”

Vettel on his future and when asked whether he got pen to sign anything here in Spa?

“I carry a lot of pens with me, but not specifically to sign anything… You can copy paste my response [about the future] from two weeks ago!”

Vettel on Anthoine Hubert’s last year tragedy

“We all love this track, but all of us, as we came through the gate, thought about Anthoine. He was much loved and very promising. I think we all still recall the dark atmosphere on that Saturday night. My first impulse, on the wave of emotion was not to race, to not even want to get in the car. Naturally, after a while the emotion gives way to logic and when you put the visor down you automatically leave those thoughts outside the helmet and out of your mind. We are still very sad about what happened and we feel for his family. Unfortunately, while motorsport can let you experience some amazing feelings, it can also be terrible when things like this occur.”

Vettel on current season struggles so far

“There’s always two ways to look at it: you can get frustrated by it or you tackle it and you push through, and that’s what I’m here to do”. 

Vettel on the first experience of driving at Spa(2005 was first year at Spa,Renault World Series):

“I crashed. that I remember. And I broke my finger. I came to the medical center and they dressed me in these funny things and put me in a wheelchair. And I just said, ‘Look, I’m not bad. It’s just my finger!'”

Vettel on , if this could be last time he is racing at Spa?

“I can come here at any time! Whether I am allowed to drive fast with my car, we will see. I think it will not be my last time here.”

“The track itself has a certain myth and character. I also think I won here, in 2018 and before that, I think in 2013 and 2011, I’m not sure, maybe not in 2011, I can’t remember (haha).”
