Chances of Rain and Thunder storms forecasted for the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix weekend at Spielberg, Austria.
Thunderstorms were predicted throughout the Styrian Grand Prix weekend and rain arrived on Wednesday night, while there was also plenty of rain on Friday afternoon and evening too but nothing that affected track running.
The storms bubbled up around the circuit but never hit it on Saturday, and then the chance receded the longer Sunday went on.
Teams had planned for rain on Friday and so crammed a lot of work into FP1, and the forecast is similarly unsettled for this coming weekend. Whether that actually turns into any wet running is anyone’s guess, but just like the last race there will be plenty of time spent watching the radars and overhead clouds.
There is a 7% chance of rain predicted for Friday Practice session on July 2nd, also temperatures can reach up to 20C with Wind Gusts of 17 km/h blowing across the track.
Similar to Friday, clouds will cover Red Bull Ring for Saturday Free Practice three and Qualifying, but there won’t be any rain. Saturday will be little warmer than Friday with max temperature of 27C is predicted for Qualifying session.
Wind will calm down compared to Friday, 11 km/h Gusts predicted for important qualifying session.
There is 90% chance of rain predicted for Sunday’s main race on July 4th. The temperature will be in the range of 21C(High) and 13C(Low). 13 km/h Wind Gusts will impact cars and drivers on Sunday like it did seven days ago.
