Few of the sports leagues across globe broke virtual curfew imposed by COVID-19 last week with empty stadiums, they have sought ways to maintain a bit of the old pre-pandemic festivity in stadiums devoid of spectators.
One popular choice, from Germany’s top soccer league to professional baseball in Taiwan, has been to replace fans with figures that are not subject to social distancing rules: cardboard cutouts holding signs or smiling.
But Over the weekend, a soccer team in South Korea used creativity to fill seats with something a little more lifelike i.e Mannequins. Unfortunately their zeal ended with a big social embarrassment.
But fans took social media to highlight the telltale signs, like the business logos for sex toy marketers on the dolls’ clothing what it beleved were ordinary mannequins. Total twenty eight women and two men dolls were used.
The club officials of FC Seoul issued public apologies on Monday for their embarrassment.
“We had tried to add some fun in the no-spectator match,” FC Seoul said in a statement. “But we have not checked all the details, and that is clearly our fault.”
